About

Hi, my name is Rebekah. I am a subject matter expert in all things Baby Gear. How did I acquire to the extensive knowledge I have today? After pursing a career in Midwifery, I decided that my passion was to serve and empower expecting and postpartum parents as they navigate the overwhelming world of baby gear. I worked as a nanny, Newborn Care Specialists, and Postpartum Doula for 10+ years . This means that I worked with families, in their homes, on a daily basis. I tested baby gear in real life scenarios.  I have used 30+ different baby monitors in different homes, day after day. And I can tell you which ones consistently delivered results and were reliable every time. During this time, I also lived and worked overseas in South Africa, France and the Philippines. Because of those experiences, I keep a global perspective when working with expecting families. I always honor cultural desires, and I can provide solid information on the safety of a baby item, how it is viewed in North America, as well as how it is used (or not used) in Europe and other countries.

I am a mom myself, and have used almost all of the gear I talk about with my own child. Many people talking about baby gear on the internet are moms - so what makes me different? During my nanny career, I continually pushed to educate myself in the baby gear industry, meaning I have lots of certifications to back up my knowledge. I am a Babywearing Educator, IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), and a CPST (Car Seat Passenger Safety Technician - or car seat expert!).

Currently, after so many years getting hands-on experience, I work in the baby gear industry helping parents build their dream baby registries. I am up-to-date on the newest and greatest items, I talk directly to retailers and manufactures and provide feedback from my clients, and I use the gear in my everyday life still, so I know what works, and what doesn’t!

I am also a firm believer in the fact that not all baby gear is for all families. Each family will have a unique registry and a unique experience on their parenting journey. So many parents are going to Instagram, Tik Tok, or their local Facebook parenting group and asking “What did you put on your registry?”. While that is often helpful to get a baseline of items added, it may lead you to have too many items on your registry - resulting in you getting gifted items you don’t need, and having to purchase the items you do need yourself at the last minute. This is why I believe adding items to your registry in a thoughtful way, with research or consulting an expert (like me!) is the best way to ensure you will have an awesome baby registry that actually provides the tools you need on your parenting journey!
